Avington and Itchen Abbas Circular

Easy Difficulty
Fields & Woodland

If you're looking for a shorter walk before breakfast or lunch, this is a wonderful option with the loop a short distance from The Cricketers

The route gently follows the River Itchen before looping around beautiful Avington, crossing several chalk stream bridges and passing the picturesque lake. It's ideal for families, casual walkers and anyone wanting to enjoy the valley without committing to a longer hike.

Easton Circular

10.6km / 6.5 miles
2.5-3 hours
Moderate Difficulty
Fields & Narrow Lanes

This is a pleasant countryside trail taking in a mix of sights and terrains as you make your way round. This includes winding along farm field paths, woodland tracks, riverside trails, and paved roads. Enjoy the views over the farmlands and water while keeping an eye out for wildlife.

Take care on the rougher sections of this trail, especially in wetter conditions when the paths become muddy, as well as along the roads where you will need to be aware of vehicles. Chapel Lane at the end requires particular care as it is narrow and winding.
